“Carter Heyward’s New Book Calls Out Sins of White Christian Nationalism.” Thoughts by one’s of the world’s leading theologians about the dangers of nationalism. I also look at how Carter’s compassionate work in the world reflects her theology. National Catholic Reporter.
“Philadelphia 11 Reunion Recalls Ministry of Pioneering Women Priests.” When Alison Cheek, one of the Philadelphia Eleven, died in 2018, I wrote this essay about her for the National Catholic Reporter.
“A Worn Sole.” My story appeared in Hashtag Queer Creative Anthology, Volume 1, in 2017. You can order the anthology here.
“Do You Hear What I Hear?” (on the topic of gun violence) appeared in December 2016 when I was a guest columnist for Morgan Guyton’s blog “Mercy Not Sacrifice” (Patheos).
“That Little Blue Boy.” I wrote this essay about my father . . . and his father . . . and how their relationship around cars turned out to represent their relationship around so many other things. It was published in Sugar Mule Literary Magazine in 2013.
